A 29-year-old man has appeared in court charged with assault causing harm to a woman at a house in Co Meath.
The accused appeared before Trim District Court.
The court heard he made no reply when charged at 1.25pm.
A garda told Judge Cormac Dunne that there was no objection to the defendant being released on bail provided he reside a specified address, sign on three times a week and provide a phone number where gardaí can contact him 24/7.
He must also make no contact with the victim.
Judge Dunne remanded the accused on his own bond of €100 and he is due back in court on 10 December.
A woman and a baby girl, understood to be weeks old, were injured in the incident.
The baby is receiving treatment for serious injuries at Temple Street Children's Hospital.
