An investigation is under way into a suspected armed robbery from a cash-in-transit van in Dublin.
The incident happened when the van was making a collection from a business premises on the Slaney Road in Glasnevin at around 2.20pm yesterday.
A white Ford Transit Connect van pulled up to the premises and a man got out, while a second man remained in the van.
The culprit approached a security guard making the collection with what is believed to be a handgun and took the cash box from him.
No one was injured in the incident.
The Ford Transit van left the scene at, travelling from Slaney Road onto Lagan Road.
The two men abandoned the van and it was found burnt out on Lagan Road.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who were in the vicinity between 1.30pm and 3pm to contact them.
They are particularly eager to talk to drivers who were near Glasnevin Industrial Estate at the time and who have dash cam footage.
