A 25-year-old Irishman is due to appear before court in Australia for allegedly causing a disturbance during a flight from Los Angeles to Sydney.
The man, who has been named by Australian police as L Hyland, was arrested on 10 October when the flight landed at Sydney International Airport.
It is understood that he approached the cockpit of the plane during the flight and refused to return to his seat when asked to do so by cabin crew.
Mr Hyland reportedly began "behaving in a disruptive manner and assaulted one of the flight attendants".
Flight security procedures were then initiated and Mr Hyland was restrained for the remainder of the journey.
He lives in Australia on a temporary working visa and is due to appear before court in Sydney today.
He faces charges of assaulting cabin crew staff, committing an act of violence on board an aircraft, and another charge of behaving in an offensive and disorderly manner.
