Gardaí investigating the murder of Martin Clancy in Limerick have made a second arrest.

A man is being detained on suspicion of attempting to frustrate the investigation by withholding information.

He is being held for questioning at Mayorstone Garda Station.

Yesterday a man aged in his 20s, who was known to the victim, was arrested in Cork city on suspicion of murder.

He is being held at Roxboro Garda Station in Limerick.

The body of Mr Clancy, 45, was found at his apartment in Little O'Curry Street last Sunday night.

Gardaí are continuing their forensic search of the apartment and have been granted permission to maintain the area as a crime scene until tomorrow night.
