The Coast Guard has recovered the bodies of two men from the water in Co Donegal today.

One man was in his 50s and the other man was in his 40s.

The incident occurred off Málainn Bhig, Gleann Cholm Cille, Co Donegal.

It is understood the two men left the pier in Teileann in Co Donegal in a boat last night.

The alarm was raised this morning when the body of one of the men was washed ashore at Málainn Bhig. 

The Coast Guard’s Sligo-based rescue helicopter was then tasked to help in the search for the second man.

At around 11am, it located the second body and the boat.

The Bundoran Lifeboat and the Killybegs Lifeboat were also involved in the search.
