Working Group to examine rising cost of health-related claims

The Government is to set up a Working Group to look at the rising cost of health-related claims and to look at ways to reduce costs.

The group will examine the rising costs of clinical negligence claims, particularly claims in excess of €4m.

It will also consider measures suggested by Dr Gabriel Scally in his final CervicalCheck implementation report of November 2022.

It will be chaired by Dr Rhona Mahony, Consultant Obstetrician, National Maternity Hospital and will comprise members from across a number of Government departments.
