There is still no date set for the release of the results of this year's Junior Certificate exams.

Amid ongoing impatience among students and their families, the State Examinations Commission has said that marking is now complete in most subjects and that every effort will be made to issue the results "as soon as possible".

However, it has reiterated that given the priority afforded to Leaving Certificate appeals, is it not yet able to provide a date for the issue of the Junior Cycle results.

It is now four months since students began their exams.

They were the first to be held after the Junior Cycle tests were cancelled for two years running during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Leaving Certificate students who appealed their results will receive the outcome of those appeals this Friday.

The SEC says it will inform schools of arrangements for the issuing of Junior Certificate results "in due course".
