An investigation is under way into a house fire in Dublin in which a person died.
Emergency services were alerted to the blaze at the house on Stannaway Avenue in Crumlin at around 9pm last night.
The person's body was discovered after the fire was brought under control.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and the body is to be removed to Dublin City Mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
Dublin Fire Brigade said the remains of a female were found by crew wearing breathing apparatus.
Gardaí say the results will determine the course of their investigation.
