An investigation is under way after two men died in a house fire in Dublin.

The fire broke out at a house in Lansdowne Valley in Drimnagh at around 1.45pm.

Emergency services brought the fire under control, and the bodies of two men, aged in their late 60s and early 70s, were discovered inside the house.

The bodies of both men were removed to the Dublin City Mortuary, where post-mortem examinations will be conducted by the State Pathologist.

Gardaí say the results of the post-mortems will determine the course of their investigation.
