A 24-year-old man has been injured in an apparent hit-and-run in Crumlin in Dublin.

The man was found injured on the road at Parnell Road and Clogher Road at around 5.55am.

Gardaí believe the man may have been struck by a vehicle that failed to stop at the scene.

The injured man was taken to St James's Hospital with serious head injuries.

Gardaí said they understand that the man made his way from Camden Street at around 4.30am towards Portobello, Harrington Street, South Circular Road, Harold’s Cross Bridge, Parnell Road and Clogher Road.

A garda technical team has examined the scene.
