A man in his 20s has been arrested and charged in relation to a robbery at a petrol station in Dublin yesterday.

The robbery happened at around 4pm yesterday on the Grange Road in Baldoyle.

Two men entered the petrol station, one armed with what was believed to be a screw driver, and demanded cash from staff.

Having left with a sum of cash, the two men then attempted to steal a car but failed to do so.

Gardaí were alerted and after a search of the area one man was arrested and the sum of cash was recovered.

He is being detained at Howth Garda Station and gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
