Motorists in the Fingal County Council area have been asked to slow down in the vicinity of schools after two incidents this week.
The council said that a school traffic warden was verbally abused by a motorist when asked to move their car which had been parked illegally near the school crossing on Wednesday.
The warden was then hit by the wing mirror of the car as it was driven off.
The second incident happened at a school crossing in Swords on Thursday morning.
A car drove through the crossing seconds after a group of children crossed the road, and narrowly missed hitting the school traffic warden.
Gardaí were notified of both incidents.
The council's Road Safety Promotions Officer, Niamh Russell, said the two incidents were extremely worrying and urged people to obey the rules of the road.
