A man in his 50s arrested on suspicion of organised crime offences has been released without charge.

The man was arrested yesterday on foot of a warrant issued under section 42 of the criminal justice act which allows for a person to be arrested in prison.

He was taken to a garda station in Dublin, where he was questioned for a number of hours.

Gardaí said a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions and the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation will continue its investigation.
