Three men have been arrested after cocaine worth €2.5 million was seized during a search of three vehicles in Dublin yesterday.

The vehicles were stopped in the Blakes Cross area as part of an operation targeting organised crime and involved officers from the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB).

The men, aged 44, 48 and 59, were arrested at the scene and are being held at two different garda stations in Dublin.

Detective Chief Superintendent Angela Willis, who is head of Bureau at GNDOCB, said gardaí are committed to disrupting the activities of "organised criminals supplying drugs to our communities".

Chief Supt Willis described the seizure as "significant".
