More than 1 million cigarettes have been recovered after they were wrongly loaded onto a truck at the premises of a delivery company.

Thieves drove a van into the company's premises in west Dublin on Monday night where workers mistakenly loaded 1.3 million cigarettes onto it.

The vehicle was traced on CCTV and gardaí discovered it in a yard in Clondalkin.

The cigarettes, worth around €750,000, were recovered.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
