The Special Criminal Court has agreed to hear an application by the former Defence Forces member Lisa Smith to have the charges against her dismissed.
The 39-year-old is accused of being a member of the unlawful terrorist group Islamic State (ISIS) between 28 October 2015 and 1 December 2019.
She is also charged with financing terrorism by sending €800 in assistance, via a Western Union money transfer, to a named man on 6 May 2015.
Ms Smith has denied the charges.
The trial had been due to commence today but the case has now been adjourned until next Monday.
The three judges agreed this morning to hear a defence application to dismiss the charges under Section 4(e) of the Criminal Procedure Act 1967 as inserted by Section 9 of the Criminal Justice Act 1999.
