The number of people with Covid-19 in hospital has more than doubled over the last two weeks.
There are 685 patients today who have tested positive for the virus, an increase of 56 on yesterday.
It compares to a figure of 496 last Thursday and 311 on this day two weeks ago.
The number of hospitalised cases reported on the Covid-19 Data Hub this morning did not include information from all hospitals, due to a technical fault.
The issue has now been resolved by the HSE.
Meanwhile, the number of people with the virus in intensive care has fallen from 24 yesterday to 20 today.
It compares to 25 patients with Covid-19 in ICU on this day last week and 24 two weeks ago.
Stephen Donnelly urged people over the age of 65 and those who are immunosuppressed to avail of their second dose.
