Irish Ferries said its new Oscar Wilde ferry, the largest and fastest cruise ferry on the Irish Sea, has started sailings today.

The ship has a capacity of 2,080 passengers, 134 cabins and over 2,380 lane meters for cars, coaches, and freight vehicles. It also has a possible top speed of 27.5 knots.

The ferry will service the Rosslare and Pembroke route with twice-daily sailings, offering an elevated experience connecting Ireland to the UK.

Irish Ferries Managing Director Andrew Sheen, said the the Oscar Wilde ferry offers customers an enhanced Irish Sea journey on board a ship featuring the very best in terms of comfort, speed, and amenities.

"We are confident that the Oscar Wilde will become a firm favourite with our passengers and freight customers, and we look forward to welcoming them on board," he added.
