Irish-owned international consulting and technology firm Aspira has announced its intention to create 40 new roles at its Cork operations over the next 18 months.

The jobs, described as "high-level", will be in the areas of project management, business analysis and technology.

The announcement comes as Aspira opens a new headquarters at Penrose Dock in Cork City.

It also intends to open a new office in Portugal in November to facilitate the surge in sales activity in mainland Europe.

Last year, the company opened an Asia-Pacific regional headquarters in Malaysia as well as expanding its mainland European operation with the opening of a second office in The Netherlands.

Established in 2007, Aspira currently employs 160 people.

Its international client base includes prominent names in the IT, financial services, pharmaceutical and medical devices, healthcare and energy sectors.

"Many organisations are now reigniting and accelerating the deployment of major technology projects that may have been delayed due to the pandemic. The creation of these new roles will further strengthen our capabilities to deliver these large-scale innovative projects," Aspira CEO, Pat Lucey said.

"We have set up our new headquarters to meet the needs of the hybrid model with shared spaces to facilitate collaboration and conversation," he added.
