The Kerry Food Hub is set to create 162 jobs through the expansion of their food innovation centre.

The centre based in Firies has purpose-built food production units, which provide start up entrepreneurs with easy access to dedicated and high quality food production facilities.

Through Enterprise Ireland investment, the centre will grow from four units to 14, delivering 100 direct and a further 62 indirect local jobs.

The Kerry based not-for-profit community project was the vision of local farmer David Gleeson who founded the group of local social based entrepreneurs with the aim to enhance employment opportunities in the region.
