Dalata Hotel Group has announced the acquisition of the operating and leasehold interest in the 155-bedroom, four-star Tamburlaine Hotel in Cambridge in the UK.

The hotel will be rebranded as as Clayton Hotel Cambridge in the coming months, the Group said.

The hotel, which was built in 2017, includes food and beverage offerings, conference facilities and a gym.

The group says it will reconfigure the property to add a further five bedrooms, giving 160 in total.

Dalata will operate the hotel under a 30-year lease with index linked five-year rent reviews.

Davy said the deal had an excellent strategic fit within the company's expanding UK presence that would likely add earnings potential.

"The acquisition of the leasehold interest of this hotel is another important step in our stated strategy of expanding our Maldron & Clayton brands in key cities across the UK," Dermot Crowley, Dalata Deputy CEO, Business Development and Finance, said.

"The property is an ideal fit for our Clayton brand, under which we now operate nine hotels across seven cities in the UK."
