A technology firm is to create 50 jobs at an innovation centre in Galway.
FotoNation - a subsidary of the Xperi Corporation - says it plans to develop an innovation centre to advance research and development.
The new positions will be filled over a number of years.
The firm provides technology that is used in a range of different industries, including mobile computing, data storage and the automotive sector.
Solutions developed by the company are licenced to several major electronic device manufacturers around the world.
Xperi said the FotoNation office in Galway will be central to its future innovation plans, with an initial focus on advancing infrared technology for autonomous vehicles.
The investment is backed by the IDA Ireland.
It said the decision to add to the Galway workforce is a testament to the area's growing reputation for high skilled R&D.
