A US software company has announced 40 new jobs in Dublin and Limerick.

QAD, based in Santa Barbara, California, provides "cloud-based enterprise software and services to global manufacturing firms."

Its expansion over the next three years will bring the total number of QAD employees in the country above 140.

The company intends to add more than a dozen software development and quality analysis positions in Limerick, and over 20 software engineering and business development positions in Dublin.

New, larger offices at the Clive House in the National Technology Park in Limerick, and Ardee Road in Rathmines, Dublin, will accommodate the bigger workforce.

"The expansion by QAD," Minister of State Patrick O'Donovan TD said, "is welcome news for Limerick and the Mid West Region and for Dublin. It further enhances Irelands reputation as a technology and manufacturing hub and proves that the skills pool to help companies like QAD to grow and develop their operations is available in regional locations as well as in our capital. I wish them every success."

Executive Director with IDA Ireland, Mary Buckley said, "[The expansion] demonstrates a substantial commitment from the company to its Irish operations and is a strong endorsement of the availability of talent with quality technology expertise."
