Dalata Hotel Group has today opened the Maldron Hotel South Mall, Cork's newest 4-star city centre hotel.
The hotel, located in the heart of Cork's business, shopping and entertainment district, is the first to be built in the city in 14 years.
Once the old Fire Offices and School of Anatomy for UCC, Dalata bought the building in 2016 and started working on it in 2017 at a total cost of €30m.
The hotel now features 163 bedrooms, two restaurants, a bar, a cafe and five meeting rooms to cater for both leisure and business guests.
The new Maldron Hotel South Mall is the latest in a series of hotel launches and refurbishments to the Maldron Hotel network throughout Ireland following a multi-million-euro investment by Dalata.
Today's opening follows the opening of the Clayton Charlemont in Dublin on November 23 and the Maldron Newcastle on December 4.
