Bank of Ireland has appointed Jackie Noakes as its new Group Chief Operating Officer.

Ms Noakes will oversee a range of services across technology, infrastructure and operations for the lender.

She has extensive experience in the financial services sector, with particular expertise leading and implementing technology-enabled business transformation.

Previously she held a number of senior positions in the financial services sector, most recently at Legal & General (UK) as CEO of Mature Savings.

Bank of Ireland Chief Executive Francesca McDonagh said "Jackie is a welcome addition to our leadership team and will be an important asset in supporting the Group's strategic ambition, purpose and transformation".

Maureen Stanley had been the bank's interim COO after the former holder of the role, Lewis Love, left the lender in March.
