A new website has been launched to help grow the blockchain industry in Ireland.
Blockchain Ireland aims to provide information about the country's blockchain sector to start-ups, international firms and potential users of the technology.
It has been established by the Irish Blockchain Expert Group, which is in turn backed by IDA Ireland, Enterprise Ireland, the Department of Finance and ConsenSys.
It is hoping to promote Ireland as a centre of excellence for blockchain, which is an emerging technology that can be used to securely record transactions.
"Blockchain technology holds great potential for the Irish economy, in particular as a catalyst for innovation and experimentation across innumerable sectors," said Eoin Fitzgerald, Enterprise Ireland's senior advisor for Fintech.
"Blockchain Ireland will serve as an invaluable support to the many Irish startups currently utilising this cutting-edge technology as well as those hoping to make use of blockchain in the future."
