West Cork based timber producer GP Wood is embarking on a €14m investment programme to upgrade its plant at Enniskeane.
The company said the investment will lead to greater capacity and a wider product range.
The investment will also result in 27 new jobs between the plant itself and the forestry operations which supply it.
Created through the 2013 merger of the Grainger and Palfab family enterprises, West Cork based GP Wood has a turnover of €49m with exports of €21m.
The company has a workforce of 133 with a further 242 indirect employees in their forestry operations.
Its timber manufacturing is focused on the construction, fencing, garden leisure and packaging markets.
GP Wood also operates two of the country's largest sawmills with state of the art facilities for kiln drying, machining and timber treatment.
