An Irish start-up that aims to be a global search engine for medical treatments plans to hire 26 people in the next year as part of its expansion plans.

Whatclinic.com, which allows users to compare the pricing and availability of private healthcare clinics in 135 countries, said it wanted to double its sales and customer care teams as it seeks to grow its business.

It is also seeking to hire some engineering and marketing staff.

The company already employs more than 50 people with its headquarters based in Dublin city.

Whatclinic said 95% of its revenue came from overseas, with Britain being its biggest market.

It is aiming to expand its operations in the United Arab Emirates and Turkey in the coming months.
