Eight teams of students have begun work in Trinity College Dublin’s business incubator.

The teams, made up of Trinity students, will now partake in LaunchBox’s three month programme to try to develop their ideas into functional products or services.

The early stage business plans include a fashion-focused app, a drink for athletes and a payments platform that allows purchases to be completed by tapping a smartphone with a debit or credit card.

The teams will be supported by a range of advisors, who will help them to develop their products and prepare for the funding and venture capital process.

LaunchBox, which is only open to undergraduates and postgraduates at TCD, first launched last year.
