A new chief executive has been appointed to Tesco Ireland.
PJ Clarke will succeed Tony Keohane, who is to become Chairman of Tesco Ireland from the beginning of July after seven years as chief executive.
Mr Clarke, who is from Britain, has held a number of senior roles in Tesco since he joined the company four decades ago, including CEO in its eastern European operations and Japan.
Tony Keohane joined Quinnsworth as a management trainee in 1978 and was appointed to the board of the company in 1995.
He subsequently joined the board of Tesco Ireland following the acquisition of the Tesco business in 1997.
He became CEO in 2006.
Tesco Ireland employs over 15,000 people in 142 stores nationwide.
