This morning sees the launch in Wexford of Techovate 2012 - a two-day event which promises to bring America's Silicon Valley to the South-East.

It is where Irish businesses will mix with and learn from senior executives of the world's biggest names in business, like Microsoft, Google, IBM, Facebook and Cisco.

The theme of Techovate is "how to use technology to drive your business" and one of the Irish firms there is Wexford-based classified ads website DoneDeal.

Fred Karlsson, Done Deal's founder and chief executive, said Ireland had been very welcoming to technology. He said the company used a network of technology partners, and that 10 people in Wexford were supporting a website with 400,000 users each day.
