Receivers have been appointed to printing company DC Kavanagh, based at Ballymount in west Dublin.

Liam Dowdall, of Smith & Williamson Freaney, has been appointed by Bank of Scotland as receiver and manager of the firm.

Set up in 1977, DC Kavanagh is one of the country's biggest print and mailing companies. It operates across several business areas, but mainly in the government, financial and charitable sectors.

The receiver has confirmed his intention to continue to trade the business division comprising print, personalisation, insertion and mailing. In December the company stopped production in its lithographic sheet fed area.

The business will continue to employ 26 staff from its production and distribution facility at Ballymount.
