Bookmaker Paddy Power has signed a three-year deal with the company which operates the lottery in British Columbia province in Canada.
Paddy Power will supply product, pricing and risk management services to British Columbia Lottery Corporation's online sports betting business from the summer of 2012.
Under Canadian law, BCLC is the only company allowed to offer sports betting in British Columbia.
Paddy Power chief executive Patrick Kennedy said BCLC was the company's first lottery partner, while the partnership also represented its first deal in North America. Mr Kennedy said North America would become increasingly important to Paddy Power in the future.
Meanwhile, Fintan Drury, a non-executive director and formerly Chairman of Paddy Power, has retired from the company's board. He had been on the board for over nine years.
