67 jobs have been lost at three separate companies in the midlands. 40 people are being made redundant after Esker Bus & Coach Ltd and its sister company, KVC Manufacturing Ltd went into liquidation in Kilbeggan, County Westmeath.
18 workers have lost their jobs after the appointment of a liquidator at John Gannon & Son's Concrete Products Ltd in the same town and nine redundancies are to be sought by the Loughneane Concrete firm in Birr, County Offaly.
Kieran Wallace of KPMG was appointed provisional liquidator for Esker Bus & Coach Ltd and its sister company KVC. 40 people were employed between the two companies.
The company made all staff redundant two hours before the liquidator was appointed. Ciaran Wallis has re-hired seven members of staff to work alongside him for the next three to four weeks.
A liquidator was appointed to John Gannon & Son's Ltd in Kilbeggan with the loss of 18 jobs. Management at the concrete products manufacturing company say they are saddened at the collapse of the company which has been in operation in Kilbeggan for the past 30 years.
