Oil and gas exploration company Providence Resources says it has successfully finished its re-completion activities on its Vermillion 60 field in the Gulf of Mexico. The company has a 50% working interest in the project.
Vermillion 60 is located about 60 kilometres south of the Louisiana coast in the US and lies in about 40 feet of water. The field was discovered in 1975.
Providence says the new production zone has excellent reservoir characteristics.
It said it will continue to monitor the production from this new zone in order to maximise reserves recovery and gas production rates.
