European stock markets were little changed in thin trading this evening, with the London and US markets closed for public holidays. Frankfurt's DAX index was virtually flat at 4,918, while in Paris the CAC gained 0.25% to 3,236.
In Dublin, the ISEQ closed five points lower at 2,693. Building materials group CRH ended down 16 cent at €17.71, and food group Kerry fell 30 cent to €16. But drinks group C&C added seven cent to €2.25 and insurer FBD gained 26 cent to €7.19.
Earlier, Tokyo's Nikkei 225 index closed 121 points (1.3%) higher to close at 9,347, shrugging off concerns prompted by an announcement from North Korea that it had carried out a nuclear test. The Hang Seng added 59 points to 17,122.
