More than 5,000 people have submitted their ideas to a campaign to promote economic recovery.

The people behind the Ideas Campaign, which was set up just four weeks ago, say the level of response demonstrates the wealth of creativity that Irish people have to offer.

By yesterday evening, which was the closing date for submissions, 5,284 ideas had been received.

The website had 48,000 visits during that time and 17% of those visitors were from overseas.

The second phase of the campaign, to implement some of those ideas, is now getting underway.
