Irish mobile phone distributor Commercial Wireless has bought the Irish business of French-based company A Novo.
A Novo specialises in repairs and after-sales service for mobile and other telecoms devices. Its Irish operations are based in Clondalkin in Dublin.
Commercial Wireless managing director Michael Moriarty said the takeover now meant it was in a dominant position in the handset repair business in Ireland.
After the deal, Commercial Wireless will have four Nokia repair centres, and accreditation for the repair of other makes of phone. It expects turnover from this side of its business to double to more than €2m after the A Novo deal. Last year, Commercial Wireless had total revenues of more than €11m.
