AIB says a new facility opening next year in north Dublin will create 260 new jobs.
A new customer contact centre will be located at Lakeview House at Airside Retail Park. The facility is part of an expansion of its Direct Banking operations, which mainly provide customer service for the bank's telephone and internet banking service.
AIB already has similar facilities in Citywest and Naas. The bank also says the new building has been designed to deliver lower energy requirements and carbon emissions.
Meanwhile, there are growing fears in Limerick about the future of 163 jobs at the Atlas Aluminium company based in the city. The company manufactures components for the global car industry.
The company has been hit by a strike by workers at the plant for over a week. It says it cannot now meet its orders and may have to shut.
The workers, who are members of SIPTU, are in dispute with the company over pay and the conditions of some of the Polish workers employed at the plant.
