United Drug, the wholesaler, packaging and pharmaceuticals distribution specialist, has bought a UK based company for up to £8.5m.

United Drug paid £5m in cash, £1m in shares, plus £3.5m on completion of the deal and the achievemnet of profits, to acquire Pyramed, a specialist distributor of medical devices and equipment.

United Drug's CEO Liam FitzGerald said the deal will strengthen the company's  offering in the UK medical market, as well as providing further opportunities for growth.
