Lakeland Dairies sells property for over €20m

Lakeland Dairies has sold a portfolio of 16 properties for more than €20m under the co-op's restructuring programme announced earlier this year.

The agri-trading outlets at Losset, Templeport, Corrigan, Kilnaleck, Grousehall and Carrickallen in County Cavan, and at Gortermone, Co. Longford, have been purchased by the tenants who have been operating the stores on a franchise basis.

Lakeland said these stores will continue to operate as agri-trading outlets. The remainder have been purchased by a Derry based company, Heron Ltd.

A spokesman for Lakeland Dairies said the stores had achieved well in excess of the guide price of €20m.
