The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland has signed a ten year contract with P5tv for a community television service for Navan and its environs.

From the end of September the station will be broadcast for three hours each week on the local cable system.

P5tv will provide local news, current affairs, sport, education, music, adult literacy, and Irish language.

This is the second community television service to be licensed under the 2001 Act by the Commission.

The channel plans to broadcast some Polish content.

The BCI have also funded a community needs assessment project, to investigate what production facilities, training and resources should be made to the community to best serve its interests.
