Charles Garvey will step down as Chief Executive of Horizon Technology at the end of September, but will continue on the board as a non-executive director.

Garvey joined Horizon as Operations Director in 1989 and was appointed Chief Executive in 2001.

Over the last year he has successfully led the restructuring of the group, including the recent sale of the group's Cisco training business and management buyouts of three smaller application consulting businesses, Webfactory, and Fusion UK.

Samir Naji, the founder and Executive Chairman of the group, will become Chief Executive at the end of September. He held this position from the establishment of the group in 1988 until 2001.

Horizon's directors have also decided to appoint Gary Coburn to the board September. Gary has 19 years experience in the IT industry and has been with the group since 1992.
