Chip designer Parthus Technologies has launched a new version of its Bluetooth platform, Bluestream Release 6.
The new version will deliver better functionality, reduced time to market and will lower the cost of deployment.
Bluetooth is rapidly becoming the standard for wireless communication between a range of personal electronic devices such as mobile phones, handheld devices, PC peripherals and home and industrial appliances.
The most recent Bluetooth research report noted that 2001 will see Bluetooth chip shipments on track to meet a previous 2001 forecast of 13 million units.
Parthus also announced today that the new version has been licensed and deployed by a number of new customers in addition to its existing Bluestream customer base. These include 3Com, Agilent and Fujitsu.
