The Construction Industry Federation has said employee mental health is at the centre of a week-long initiative on sites across Ireland.
Across more than 1,000 construction sites, employers and workers will participate in a variety of health and safety initiatives as part of Construction Safety Week 2021.
The Construction Industry Federation said stress and mental health issues can often impact safety levels.
Companies have been told to ensure that mental well-being is a central aspect of site safety culture.
Throughout the week experts will talk to workers about mental health and well-being.
According to the Health and Safety Authority, there were 846 non-fatal injuries in construction in 2020.
Industry leaders said the sector's 145,000 employees are being encouraged to reset and refocus their safety training on site.
