The online application system has gone live for schools to upload data for this year's Leaving Certificate calculated grades, the Department of Education announced today.

The system has been created for schools to enter the relevant data on Leaving Certificate students' estimated percentage marks and class rankings.

It went live at midday today and will remain open until close of business on Friday 19 June.

Over 60,150 Leaving Certificate and Leaving Certificate Applied students registered on the Calculated Grades Student Portal in May.

The grading system has been put in place because it was felt the health risks to students posed by Covid-19 were too great to hold the Leaving Certificate examinations in the normal way.

Schools have been provided with a guidance document on use of the calculated grading system. They have also been provided with a document showing students and their subjects and levels.

Minister for Education Joe McHugh said: "The opening of the online system for schools to upload data for Leaving Certificate calculated grades is another important stage in the process.

"I want to acknowledge the work of teachers, principals and school staff who are collaborating at this time to ensure that students' estimated marks and class rankings are compiled and uploaded to the system before the deadline of Friday 19 June.

"I also want to take this opportunity to thank the students once again for registering with the system."

The Department of Education said a helpline is available to support schools during the process.
