It's 'Children’s Day' in Poland.

Introduced in 1952, it is a significant event in the Polish calendar and events take place across Poland to mark the start of the summer holidays.

There is also an emphasis on protecting children’s rights - particularly those outlined in the Convention on the Rights of the Child - to ensure that they have a fulfilling childhood.

There are just over 120,000 Polish people living In Ireland.

Polish children here also celebrate 1 June as a special day.
