Final preparations are under way for the first Youth Assembly on Climate at Dáil Éireann.

157 delegates aged 10 to 17 will convene tomorrow to discuss and determine their proposals for next steps for Ireland on climate action.

Reuban Murray, 17, from Mountrath, Co Laois, will be among them.

The Mountrath Community School student says he wants to see more discussions around alternative energy and public transport.

Reuban said: "Climate change is important because it's a problem we can fix. There are so many things that we can change and we’re not doing it."

The Youth Assembly is part of the celebrations to commemorate Dáil100.
