A garda has been hospitalised in Cork following a collision involving his patrol car and a four-wheel drive which was towing a horsebox.
The crash happened at around 6.30 this evening at Ballytrasna on the Macroom side of Lissarda.
It is understood the garda had to be cut from his patrol car after the crash by members of Cork County Fire Service. His injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
The N22 Cork to Killarney road via Macroom is closed at Fourmilewater Bridge and diversions are in place.
Motorists travelling between Cork City and Killarney are advised to take the Mallow road.
