An Irish financial technology company based at Clonakilty in west Cork is to create 80 jobs, with about 64 of the roles based in Ireland.

Global Shares provides software for dealing in shares.

Recruitment will begin immediately, and will be completed within two years, bringing staff numbers at the company to 228.

Most of those recruited will be based at the company's headquarters in Clonakilty.

The new roles are new across IT, financial, multi-lingual share plan analysts, service desk, trading and legal areas.

Some of the new roles are supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through Enterprise Ireland.
